Missionary Referral Notifications Sent to Wrong Ward
I have been serving as a ward mission leader for about the past year in northern Utah in Brigham City. In that time, I have received about 6 missionary referral notification emails (from noreply-missionary-info@mail.churchofjesuschrist.org) for individuals that are not located in my ward boundaries, some have been in an adjacent ward in my stake and some have been located in an adjacent stake (my ward borders a couple of wards in the adjacent stake). Luckily, the full time missionaries assigned to our area currently cover both the stake I live in and the adjacent stake where all of these referrals have been so they have been able to follow up on the referrals easily. I am just trying to figure out how to report the issue and make sure referrals are actually getting sent to the correct wards/stakes. To add another detail, it hasn't been like the people in the missionary referrals live on a street on the edge of my ward, they are typically at least 2 or 3 blocks away from my ward boundaries. I am not sure if an automated system is selecting the ward these referrals are sent to or what the process is, but there seems to be a flaw in at least my area.

Somewhat surprised you are getting the referrals, not the missionaries themselves via the mission office. Is that the normal procedure in your mission and stake?

Re: Missionary Referral Notifications Sent to Wrong Ward
This is a bit of a late reply, but I'm pretty sure what's going on is when a referral is sent to an area, the system figures out which missionaries cover that area and then sends it to the missionaries as a referral. The missionary system then automatically assigns a ward, usually a default ward in their system.
So in your case, your ward is probably the default ward in the missionaries area so all (or at least some) referrals they get will be assigned to your ward by default and you will get an email about it.
Not sure the best way to submit feedback, the missionaries could do it on their end in their technology portal, but hopefully this helps explain what's going on. The good news is the missionaries over your ward will get all the right referrals, they just have to reassign the ward. I'm a missionary in the St. George Mission and this happens regularly for us.
