We have a balance for a return missionary we want to move to be available to other missionaries.

It's reporting that we have this as an action item

HOWEVER, when we try to transfer the funds to another missionary, it gives this message, yet there is no where to fill in a "subcategory" on the page... ???
Any one care to explain how to fill out a required field that doesn't exist on the page?

Transfer from XXX to YYY always gives the error: "Subcategory has insufficient balance." Yet there is NO SUBCATEGORY shown on the page!

Missionary categories are sub-categories of the Ward Missionary category. That is what is being referenced when the error message states; "Subcategory has insufficient balance." In this case the missionary account you are trying to transfer funds from does not have the amount you entered available for transfer.

When making a transfer from one missionary category to another and after entering the missionary category name in the the "From" category there will be an information link next to the amount in the "FUNDS AVAILABLE" column that, when clicked, will display this help information: "This amount does not include transactions that are not yet approved". So if the amount displayed in the "FUNDS AVAILABLE" column is, for example, $550.00, then there may not actually be $550.00 in that missionary category because there may be a transaction that has not yet cleared the posting process.

Check the missionary account balance as displayed on the Income and Expense Details for the missionary sub-category. If that sub-category balance is the amount you entered for the transfer then you will need to contact support to find out what the actual balance is for the missionary sub-category you were trying to transfer funds from. Or, you can wait for a few days until the September missionary expense withdrawals have been posted. I just checked and the September expense withdrawals have not yet posted to our unit's missionary accounts. Since the missionary expense withdrawals are posted in arears, the expenses for August are posted/withdrawn in September. So if your return missionary was released in August there may be an expense for August yet to be posted in September.
