The support system for the Church technology begins with your unit clerk. He is the first stop for support. Only if he cannot help you will he give you the telephone number for the global services department (GSD). Support is set up this way because the support call-in line can easily be jammed, and has been jammed in the past, with members and friends of the Church seeking support from across the world for issues that can be resolved locally or by following the self-help instructions.
