Age Removal From Records

Post by dhollowell »

Greetings all,

We have received a request from a member of our ward. This member would like their age removed from their record so that it is not available on Member Tools, even for leadership. Our membership clerk is stumped. How can we accommodate this member? :D

I believe it is not possible for the member or clerk to hide a member's age from ward and stake leadership. The clerk can contact the Global Service Center to see if there is something they can do (if there are extenuating circumstances that would warrant hiding their birthdate or age from unit leaders).

Members often get confused thinking that because they can see their own age on the Member Tools app, that everyone can. This is not correct and the church abides by the data privacy laws in the various countries the members are in.

The post immediately before yours has some suggestions that might be helpful in at least understanding things surrounding this question.
