It's simple!! But so simple that I can't do it. HOW DO I SIGN OUT OF MY ACCOUNT SO THAT MY HUSBAND CAN SIGN IN TO HIS ACCOUNT?

If you are on the LDS Account home page, then click the "Sign Out" link in the very top right side of the page.
If you are on the ChurchofJesusChrist.org pages, then click the "My Account and Ward" link in the top right of the page and then click "Sign Out" in the drop-down menu box that appears.
If your are using a browser on a mobile phone, then click the 'stack of pancakes' icon (3 horizontal short lines), or menu icon, with the blue background; scroll down to find the "My Account and Ward" link; and then click "Sign Out".

But note that your browser may have your name and password already saved and may fill them in automatically when you go to log in again. But generally when this happens your husband should be able to just type over those auto-fill values and enter his own username and password. This is something controlled by your browser and not by the church's website.

why is signing out so difficult...i'm sort of reminded of "Hotel California" as I struggle with this issue. No problem signing in, but there's no leaving...apparently...i'm old so maybe it's just my ever declining brain function...dunno. I would like to pay my tithing before I 'peg out...'

If I click on the "orb" with my initials in their upper right, there's a big "Sign Out" button.

Many of us suffer from what's described as a "cookies issue" with Church web pages. Even after signing out (either manually or when auto-logged out), sometimes "cookies" still remain active, that give the appearance you're still logged in. At times you can even still have access to most/all of the functionality, even though the church web page shows that you're not signed in anymore.

Perhaps you were just looking for what @russellnltn suggested, if not maybe this is what you're describing.
