Invalid Routing Number

I was also getting this error, but no longer am. It seems that this portion of the Church's website is quite flaky. When I was initially getting the error, the website didn't recognize PenFed's routing number. I tried clearing all cookies and cache from my web browser (Google Chrome), and that first attempt didn't work. Then I tried adding an account again, and it wouldn't even pull up the screen to do so. I had to sign out and clear cache, and then sign back in, at which point I was able to visit the Add Donation Account screen again, and this time it recognized PenFed's routing number.

Update: I got mine to work. I deleted my main account, then added the new account from the new bank and it took after 2 tries. Not sure if I’ll be able to add my old account back in but that will just take some trial and error. Annoying but better than not having the electronic option.

I am imputing a new American account so I can pay tithing online while I'm here in the United States. It says that my routing number for a Wells Fargo account is invalid.

Is your membership record in a ward in the United States? From what I understand, Online Donations is tied to the country where your records are, which affects the currency and the bank account options that are available. If your records aren't in the United States but you want to pay from a United States bank, you can try contacting onlinedonationsupport@ChurchofJesusChrist.org – based on discussions in other forum threads, I think they might be able to override the country settings for your Church Account.
